Default Why so much more?

Why is it that when you look at the prices of a slotted rotor vs a standard rotor from any company there is such a huge difference in price? It is like $100+. Same rotor just with some of the metal taken out of it. What am I missing?

Machine work costs money. Time, tools, cutting bits, etc. And, they know that people will pay "lots of money" for them. This seems to be based on the marketing hype that has been propogated over the years. This may help.
