Default important question about hotchkis lowering springs

I am ordering the hotchkis 1" lowering springs along with the hotchkis lower control arms and panhard rod, and I have a few questions that need answering before I place the order.

1-How long will my stock shocks last on this drop? have 45K on them now.

2-Will I be able to get my alignment right? or will it be off even after an adjustment?

3-Would it be bad to ge the lower control arms before the panhard, and get the panhard a week or 2 later? Might not have enough money for it all at once.

4-The inevitable, I know this will help in traction and launching, will it help to drop my 60' and better my times? will I notice a significant difference?

Thanks in advance.

just so yall know I am looking to spend about 400 on this stuff right now, so any suggestions are appreciated. If you think I should get sfc's or something else along with the springs let me know.

It should align ok with 1" in drop
panhard later ok
buy new shocks they really help with stiffer springs
and they springs will hurt your track times.

how'd i do?

so you are telling me that the springs will hurt my times? How is that? I know I will need new shocks, but how long will my stockers last? I mean the bilstiens are xpensive.

Well my check was bigger than I thought, so here is what I am thinking:
Hotchkis Lower Control Arms - BLACK $219.00
Hotchkis Coil Springs $199.00
Hotchkis Subframe Connectors $179.00

These prices are from motorsporttech.com (MTI), if you know anywhere with better prices let me know.

Stiff springs or springs that limit suspension travel hinder weight transfer ...

I would call Lou at LG Motorsports and ask him to put you a package together.
I've had really good luck with LGM parts and I've run about all the brands out there ...

I don't think the shocks wear any quicker at the
altered travel; more like, they were marginal to
begin with against the stock spring rate and are
inadequate against the Hotchkiss higher rate,
especially in rebound from the much-increased
spring rate you see when compressing these
progressive-rate springs. Otherwise, wear is
just travel times N.

Lowering a car's center-of-gravity reduces
body roll against sway bars (good) but also
reduces body pitch against rear springs (bad
for launch, both by this and by higher rear
spring rate). Lowering also goes the wrong
way against rear link geometry. Get some
BMR bolt-in relocation brackets as part of your
swap, and you will get that latter part back
(plus some, as Hotchkiss drop is less than max
offset in the relo brackets).

well I thanks for the input for LG, but I am decided on hotchkis. Should I just wait to get the springs and shocks together? Maybe I should save my cash for now and get my headers next month? Damn, I dont know what to do. What would yall suggest. Save my 550 for the flps, or spend it???hmmmmm

I have to ask why you are sold on Hotchkis?

Not baiting or flaming, just curious on your reasons...

Well I like the 1" drop, have heard that they do not sag in the rear, and are a great ride when complemented by a good set of shocks. Plus my buddy had hotchkis springs on his chevy II in high school and they kicked a$$.

And I think I am just going to save my cash for the flp's, I need those more than springs.

thanks
Fry
