Default Drag shocks

I'm looking for the most "cost effective" drag shock. I don't want to say cheap because that implies poor quality. For example, it's easy to find stuff for a foxbody that are marketed as 70/30 or 90/10 struts for the front.

I want something that has very little rebound letting the front of the car come up, then stiff compression as it settles back down. I don't need viking adjustables or anything crazy like that.

Anybody have any experience or recommendations for a budget oriented front shock?

back in the 'day'(60s'),Lakewoods were the ones that most used, now 50 years later, they're the ones to avoid because many good brands have come on the market.
link to Lakewood shocks, don't know if this is what you are seeking.

I just threw them out there as an example of compression/rebound for a "drag shock"

Viking shocks are by far and away the best bang for your shocks on the market.

All I can find for viking is expensive coil-over setups. I'd like a drop-in style shock for the front.

May I suggest the original single adj. QA1's up front, along with their 275# or 300# springs.

Spend a little extra and get the Viking setup. You won't be disappointed.
