Ok so I just ordered my BMR k member.. I got the car on jack stands at the moment for installation.. How do I get it down once installed? Can I jack the car up from the tubular K?

Almost 100 views and nobody knows if it's safe to jack up the car from the k member tube? I know someone has to have a tubular K member out there lol.

Yes you can jack it up from the kmember. I have a bmr tubular kmember and it's jacked up by it as we speak. You're good to go man

Edit: I've jacked it up many times since October last year with no issues.

I wouldn't jack a car up by a tubular k member but that's just me.

If you have a strut brace you could chain the engine to that and then lower the factory K member by itself once you remove everything attached to it..

you can achieve the same results if you have an engine hoist also

People normally under estimate how big and heavy that stock piece is. That is until you compare it side by side with one of our pieces.

You will also enjoy how much clearance you gain for headers and plug access. As any LT owner knows, plug access is priceless haha

This^^^

As a matter of fact, you can change a rod and piston without having to lower the k-member to drop the oil pan with the bmr tubular. Just take the motor mounts out, jack the motor up, and the pan slides out. That definitely made it easier

27 Lbs of dead weight off the front of the car.. I'd take that any day.. And like you say until you have to handle the stock piece off the car, you'll never understand how heavy that thing really is..
