Default Torque Arm rubbing driveshaft question...

After installing Headers and having a Custom "Y" installed with Cats, I felt a dragging of the car in a weird sort of way. Looked under car for clearances and chalked the tighter areas, then took a drive. Came back and checked the chalk...no rubbing. But, the Torque Arm has to nuts welded in the center of it aimed toward the driveshaft. I have 2 small grooves in the driveshaft now.
The crossmember that the stock "Y" went over was not reinstalled because of clearance to the pipe. Do these Torque Arm nuts serve a purpose? Because they are about to recieve the cutting torch...

Those nuts don't seem to serve a purpose except that GM might have had a thought to bolt something to it and never did.

Before you decide to screw up your t-arm, maybe you should figure out how this became a problem and fix the cause and not the by-product.

Check your t-arm mount, make sure your axle is not shifted (was the car ever hit?), make sure your tranny mount is not broken, etc.....

Good luck.
