Well the time has finally come for UMI to design our own version of lowering springs for the 4th gen and to different rates we wanted to see.

The new UMI lowering springs are Made in the USA and designed in conjunction with a leading sprint cup engineer. Rates feature 600lb/in front and 200lb/in rear.

UMI's new springs are designed to offer an extremely street friendly ride with great handling characteristics.

Our prototype springs were installed on my step mothers virtually bone stock Z28, she was to be the true test of a "wife" friendly ride. She said the car handles and feels great whiling turning when you want it to turn. There was no complaints of any negative ride changes, only praises. We even took the car around our local autocross for a few passes and it felt extremely impressive.

Springs will be available in two weeks. Here's a few pictures below of before and after. The height change is 1.25" - 1.5" lowered, we adjusted the back to 1.5" to level the car. As always mentioned these measurements vary depending on the current springs, miles ect and the pictures say it best.

Nice! So the advertised drop is 1.25" front and 1.5" rear?

Not really the "advertised" lowering. When we set out to develop this spring we were looking for a ride height in the neighborhood of 1.25" and 1.50". Every car has different geometry and there's no way that we can 100% guarantee an exact on the money height. We built 1.25" springs for the front and to get the car level we ended up with 1.50" springs on the rear.

I personally drove this car about 110 miles to an event when we first installed the springs. I was surprised at how well the ride quality was with the rates, I veered off the normal route we take to this show to hit some back country roads that twist through 2 mountains, I'm very confident in saying anybody looking for upgraded handling in a street car will not be disappointed with these springs!

Sounds good. With those rates they sound like they will handle very well. Just out of curiosity did you happen to take before and after measurements on the car, and if so what were they?

Craig hit the nail on the head. I love driving that car, probably because it is quiet, smooth and unmodified.

We did them, I need to find them. But that car above is lowered exactly 1.25" front and 1.5" rear.

What would suggest for shocks and struts in conjunction with these? I like the way these look.

Any Koni shock would work great. For inexpensive the Koni STR.T is a good shock.

These will be priced at $299.99 a set, not the cheapest on the market but also all springs are not created equal.

We used SLP Bilstein's on the car above, Koni SRT's were out of stock and wanted to use a shock on this car that was in the right price point. If we find any additional information out on the Koni's and springs we will post it.

Not in the market for springs as I run a Strano setup, but keep up the part availability!!!!

Awesome seeing you guys create/produce and TEST your products. Have seen Jerry's SS at Goodguys 2 years in a row now and love seeing the updates proving out your products.

I would promote/display a UMI sticker on my car...but I'm not in the market for anything UMI for my car LOL

Thank you sir. We just had another great weekend at Goodguys Charlotte with the UMI 4th gen. We are really pleased with the movement in the 4th gen world we have and with the help of Sam Strano you will continue to see cool things that are tested and that work.

We have some sets out there so I would think some feedback should start popping up. The weather I am sure has delayed a lot of installations and test rides.

Just ordered these for my 99 TA i'll upload before and after pictures when they're installed. Its hard to find pictures or reviews on them yet! All of the suspension I've done to this car is UMI so i'm excited to see how they are!

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with these springs.

When we installed these springs on our test car I drove it on a 2hr. road trip to a show last year, I was surprised at how well they performed.
