Question about spring compression?
I have heard that if you lower a car you need to have the spring's compressed. If this is so do you have to compress all 4 spring's or just the front? I have heard so may people lower there camaro but they say nothing about compressing there spring's. On a super chevy magazine they lowered a Z28 camaro and said you have to have the spring's compressed. Do you really have to have them compressed or not?

Yes, you need to compress them to remove them from the shocks (front only). If you don't compress them and unbolt the top of the shock, you may have a shock imbedded in yourself or your wall. That spring has enough energy to injure or kill you. Be careful!
And, Sears sells a nice set of spring compressors for about $39 that have forged steel "jaws" and pins to lock the spring into the compressor. They are what you need to do the job.

Not the rears, just disconnect the shocks, lower
the rear end and they fall right out pretty much.
It's just the fronts that need pressed on/off. The
rears, anybody can do on their driveway w/ jack
stands and a floor jack.
