Default Are my shocks bad?

I've been noticing that the rear shock on my formula seem really springy. It requires very little effort to push the back end down, especially when compared to my '82 which feels rock hard. Is this normal? Did my shocks go out at 30k?

I would say yes. Mine does the same thing. Did you change the springs?

nope, springs are stock. hey what cam are you running in your car? it sounds bad a$$! Also I like the black wheel look. I've got black ws6's with a machined lip on my formula, they look just like your wheels.

I noticed my ride is getting bad to. I can push the car down really far. But I just ordered some SLP Bilsteins, hopefully they will solve that.

The stock de Carbons are not known for lasting too long. I would look into some Bilstein HD's if I were you.

Sounds like I need some new shocks, and seeing as I've got a set of hotchkis springs waiting to go in, I may as well buy them now. It seems that alot of people are pleased with the bilsteins. I'm looking to spend no more than $300-$350 for shocks, are the bilsteins the best bang for the buck? I'm also considering the KYB AGX's. My car is primarily a street driver so a comfy ride is most important, but I would like to do some autocross events in the future too.

You can get some Bilstein HD's, which run arounf 350, but I hear they will give your car a harsh and bumpy ride. I went with the Bilstein shocks that have been re-valved by SLP. Or look into the ones from Strano.

The Bilstein HD's are a good choice for lowering springs. They can be had from Sam Strano for $330 - www.stranoparts.com
