Default bumpstops

I need to trim my bumpstops on my 02 ws6 TA. I put the eibach pro kit on and it bottoms out some. Is it ok to remove the metal spacer on top of the bumpstop or is it better to cut the rubber instead.

It's ok if you don't mind hitting your rear axle, that's what they prevent from happening. At most I'd shave em, but not completely remove them. Just deal with the bottoming out as best you can.

Better yet . . . buy better springs. I know harsh to say but Eibach Springs suck!

Bumpstops are there usually for a reason . . . . .

well Xsta is right better springs would be better than a bad ride or damaging parts! But removing the stops is a good thing to keep the rear end movement and ride! Ask the AutoX or RoadCoarse guys!

For a TA you can remove the metal spacer. That will make it so you don't hit the stop so often. Or you can install the Camaro / Firebird bump stops that are longer, softer & more pointed so when your axle housing makes contact you don't feel it. You do NOT want to remove the entire bump stop. Or you WILL damage something!

And you should replace your shocks. The stock shocks are not designed to operate in the lowered area. You need some Bilsteins (for ride or road racing) or some HALs (for drag racing). I did a lot of research on this after I lowered my TA. And I got my info from some of the best (Gordon Arnold @ PPC, Sam Strano, etc).
