Default Rear Brakes

Hey guys dumb question. I have a 1990 1500 standard short bed. I am buying new shoes for the rear. How do I know what size. There are 2 sizes to chose from but I do not understand what part to measure. Thanks

Measure the inside diameter of your Brake drum, if you can't read the size that is stamped in the drum. If your still not sure take the drum in and let them fit the shoe to the drum.

I dont know about this situation, but typically the size difference is the shoe width (2in vs. 3in). So also measure the depth of the drum. Some models of trucks (I dont know your particular model) and full-size vans came with upgraded drums that were the same diameter but had deeper drums with wider shoes.
