Well I have already spent money on springs (SLP Bilstein suspension) so I am not wanting to spend money on springs again. And I know that there are people on this board that have cut their springs, and I was wondering how they did it.

You can only cut them on one end; this is the large end without the tight loop. For the front springs, cut a coil of the bottom end. For the rear springs, cut a coil off the top end.

Inspite of what most people believe, there is really nothing wrong with cutting springs on a fbody. One coil off the fronts will lower the car about an inch; it will be less than that for the rear springs; maybe 3/4 inch. Just don't flame cut them and you will do fine.

Hey Brian...Im getting ready to do the same thing with some stock springs, just thought I'd help you out...

Just as Cal said, one from the bottom on the front, one from the top on back. And yes, a die grinder is the tool for the job .

Can't wait to see it after your done buddy!

Yeah an air die grinder with a fiber cutoff wheel works great. I've done it that way, and also with a chop saw or power mitre saw with a fiber blade installed. The chop saw is a lot faster though.
