Default Car rides like a bucket of $h!t...

I got hald 12way adjustable shocks, and drag springs up front, but the car rides like a bucket of bolts. Its really starting to **** me off. It sounds like some sort of lil knock comming from the front when i hit bumps, and it all out just SUCKS and is totally retarded. I didnt buy the car to be nice, baught to go fast as ****, but now its becomming really really bad. I got SFC but havent put them on yet, what other mods can I do, to make this ride a little better? A-rms? upper and lower, LCA's? What can I do...

thanks..

Being adjustable, what kind of setting are you running? Can't run an all out drag setup on the street and expect it to drive like a BMW

Those are not shocks you should expect a good ride out of. Those shocks are drag shocks. You can keep trying to find a setting you can live with, or you pony up for some new shocks.

There is a "rule of thumb" in the performance hobby. The more something you do impacts/improves performance, the less it helps the car to be driveable. This is almost universally true (few exceptions, such as a supercharger). More cam, lumpy idle, less low end torque. More gear, less fuel mileage, lots more shifting. Lower it, handles better, rides slightly to signifigantly worse (mine rides fine to me, but others say it's a little stiff). Hals do help 1/4 mile times, but they do so at the expense of handling and driveability. I'm guessing that you've already learned that part.

As Zane said, keep playing with settings until you find something you can live with, or change shocks and springs to something you can live with. I hope you can find a decent compromise. Good luck!

Keep the shocks and use the stock springs. This is your best bet with the QA1's

I will try it out and see what happens. Im running the shocks at 8 All the way around, with stock springs in the rear still. I will put the stockers up front and see what happens.

8 sounds a bit firm for daily driving, but I could be wrong.

wow. take the rear shocks down to about 2. Anything more than 2 makes for an EXTREMELY bumpy ride.

FWIW. I daily drive mine with the front shocks set at 4-5 and the rears at 2. Stock springs all around, back springs have 1.5 coils cut off.

I will loosen them up next time i climb under there...so tomarrow. lol. Im also thinking about taking the drag springs off aswell. but I just dont feel like hunting down my stock springs again. you think with lowering spring would make it ride like crap still aswell??

thanks guys.

i have the prokit 1.5'z, with the hals it rides sweet.IMO..........i have them at 7 up front and about 5ish- 6ish in the rear...i played with them for a while an IMO opinion, anything more than a 7 on the street is to bumpy. Also, if to low the car drives lika a boat.......to much sway in the suspension. I like to ride like a race car, not a SUV!! again, just mess with the settings and try the eibachs...........they make the handling awesome...they can be to low so if you want try another brand with an advertised .75-1" drop.............good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
