Default My autozone rotors

Just thought id show what my autozone rotors look like, and no, theyre not warped one bit.

and yes in that last one that is purple that you see, they were blue, but changed colors. The only reason im replacing them is becasue of the cracks thats forming. That goes to show that you can get a cheap rotor, and not have to worry about warping em.

Looks like they have been over-heated. They should not be blue/purple or cracked.

I had the exact same problem you're having, I used Hawk HP+ pads on those rotors.

That was until I got a deal on Eradispeed for the fronts which I am still running now with no problems.

That what my rotors look like after a weekend of road racing. Ac-delco durastop rotors can be had for under 20 bucks. John

Pony sorry I was refering to C-5 rotors. My bad.

But the funny thing is that C-5 rotors which are bigger and better are only $18.40 in Dura-stop. 88925547/88925548 Go figure!!!!

How big are C5 rotors, and can they (or calipers) be mofdified to work on Fbodeis? I heard of someone using Z06 brakes on an F body.

The c-5 rotors are 1" +- bigger than. To run c-5/z06 rotors and calipers you need a adapter bracket and some other items. Current company's that have brackets are LG motorsports, Umi performance and I use a bracket that is not made anymore(Bob Bishop) This bracket is designed correctly!! I run the c-5 rotors and Z06 calipers..

I suggest going to FRRAX.Com and lurk around the Brake section.

One quick note drilled rotors are very prone to cracking in high heat applications (Auto Cross/Road Racing). Most people that race dont use drilled rotors. For the BLING/BLING factor go for it. Anything else go solid.

Double negative....so you do have a heat problem? (j/k)

BTW, Cross-Drilling and Slotting on today's braking systems are pretty much just for looks.

Here is some more info on rotors and pads:

(Just dont do what absolut_speed said, he was joking.)

What about turning the rotors? I've often wondered if shop will refuse or charge more due to driller and/or slotted rotors. Anyone have any first hand knowledge?

For what thoes rotors cost, its not worth the trouble pulling em off just to get the turned, just so theyll look the same in the next 3 weeks of street driving.
