Default hal/qa1 shocks- r-series or gen f-series question

ok im getting new shocks and not sure which qa1 series to go with. I know the r-series are a 90/10 shock and the gen-f-series is a 70/30. Im looking for really good weight transfer and still be able to drive on the street. I heard the 90/10 shocks will blow out faster but the 70/30 shocks bounce around too much after launch... Ok one other question what springs. I definately dont want 275's as they are generally too soft for street so im looking at 300 or 325. Would their really be that much difference in the two..

go with the r-series qa1. I called the tech line and talked to them and asked about the difference. Basically the r-series is made for drag racing and getting the most weight transfer to the rear. The gen f-series is more of a street shock with some adjustability. I asked about the r-series being used on the street and he said since i mod the car they will be fine. So basically if your an old man or a woman who just likes to drive the car than get the gen f-series. If you mod your car and can stand a little trade offs than its r-series all the way. As with the springs 300lbs is the stock replacement. 275lb springs are for drag racing and you should have some weight reduction mods on the front of the car other wise you will bottom out and they will be mushy. They did not suggest the 325lb springs since they tend to limit weight transfer.

What about the Proma Star....? Is it closer to the R or F series. What spring rate did they suggest for the rear...?

i dont know about the proma star's, i only heard of the r-series and the gen f-series. As for springs in the back the limit is 200lb and under, if your doing a drag setup.
