Steve Spohn and BMR are the some to look at. Not many have aftermarket torque arms so it's hard to say how they actually hold up with prolonged use.

I'm not sure which one is the cheapest. That would take a little research but I can tell you that the Random Tech is plenty strong. I haven't been able to hurt this one. Been using it for over two years now.

Also, it's nice to be able to dial in a little pinion angle.

I'll probably be going with the Stealth unit from JFP. Its got the stock length and comes with a new trans member to attach the front of it there instead of the tranny

This isn't the best pic but you get the idea

I will give you a good deal on my BMR torque arm. Cheap on shipping also since I can send it in multiple pieces . Some Assembly Required.

My next unit will either be Spohn or Madman.

The stock torque arm is fine, unless you need to adjust the pinion, in which case you can easily modify the stocker to do that.

No problems with the Random. We are in the middle of a major suspension upgrade and the Random is one of the few parts that stays.

No question the LG and Random are both quality pieces - I just want something that shortens my instant center.

Stock torque arm is *not* fine. I have broken one - Shawn Salazar has also. If you boxed it in you will probably be okay, but I wouldn't want to find out personally. (note - I have an m6 - an a4 would probably be easier on the torque arm).

Thats the thing. Sphon runs a 3rd gen A4, there is not as much "shock" put through the TA to break it. a lot of M6 guys break em, but he doesnt. if you are looking for a quicker instant center, then i guess BMR, altho it is heavier and they still break. but a personal question-> why do you want to shorten the instant center?

Louis<--- 80K miles on one LG, no noise, no breaks, and 5 years of HARD driving- street, Roadrace, and strip and still goin!

I bent 2 of them. Trying a Spohn out this weekend. It looks like it handle it with no problem. The Mcleod Twin Disc will wreck any one thats isnt up to par. If you an A4 most will do. If your a M6 with a heavy duty clutch go with the Spohn or BMR Extreme Duty

Drag racing. I don't road-race or auto-x - and I feel the car launches better with the shorter instant center, and it's not unmanageable at the power levels I am at.
