Default Torque Arm Vibration

Just put the Spohn TQ Arm in and its a nice piece. Got the chromemoly race version. How much noise and vibration is expected. Since it does mount up to the floor boad and has no rubber to insulated the sound. It seems my y pipe hits the cross memeber at idle at times. Its the ruff idle that i beleive that causes it. Driveshaft angle is +3 and rear is -5 degrees so thats -2 degress which should be fine for street and -4 to -6 for the track. Comments please.

You want 2 degrees nose down on the pinion angle in relation to the driveshaft. If the drive shaft is +3 degrees and the pinion is -5 degrees, the relative pinion angle is 8 degrees nose down and very high vibration and u-joint wear will occur. Make sure you're doing your math right.

The pinion angle should be +1 degree for the you to have a 2 degree "nose down" attitude when coupled with a +3 degree driveshaft.

ok you lost me. I thought it was pinion minus driveshaft or something.

I'm having the same "fun" trying to get my BMR torque arm dialed in.

It's a real PITA trying to change the angles while laying on the garage floor (to keep the car level while doing the adjusting). I need to find a place that has a pit I can use...

From what i read on the spohn instructions is subtract the pinion angle from the driveshaft angle. I thought that if my pnion angle was -5 and my ds was +3 then the true angle would be -2 degrees. I might be wrong on how to do the math on this subract a negative from a negative equals a positive or something like that. So what should my pinion angle and driveshaft angle be for -2 degrees.
I think my vibration is from the y pipe vibrating on my cross member.

I have the same setup as you. A lot of the vibration can be from the Y pipe hitting the arm. It happened to me and was very bad. I moved the Y pipe over some and I hade to loosen up the rest of the exhaust and rearranged it. I even took the bracket that holds the Y pipe off re-drilled the mounting holes so the exhaust was farther away from the arm. The other problem is from you having to much pinion angle. 2 to 3 at the most. Remember it is a preload on the rear end and is in reality putting a torque on the drive shaft.
