Default Pinion angle, three sources all tell me different ways to measure!

I'm working on a car that apparently has the pinion angle out. I measured it in the following ways;

Pinion difference relative to drive shaft, +2 degrees
Pinion relative to the ground, +2.5 degrees
Pinion angle relative to the crank pulley, +1.5 degrees

So, which one is right?

The angle is apparently off, but I'm not sure how much because the different methods are all telling me different angles. This car also had a bad vibration at "interstate speeds" . I think this may be the souce of it. Anyone car to elaborate/assist?

set it relative to your crank pulley (tranny output shaft)
you want these angles to be close to the same. I also had a vibration at highway speeds and found that to be the culprit. I adjusted my torque arm so the pinion angle matched the tranny output shaft/crank pulley angle and the vibration went away.

Paul is correct. Measure the crank pulley and you'll find it points downward towards the rear of the car. You want to make the pinion yoke point upward toward the front of the car at the same angle. Then you can stop there or move the pinion downward up to one degree for street use and 2-3 degrees for drag racing.
