Default clunking noise under the car!!!

for a while now I've been hearing this clunking noise coming from underneath my car....like if some metal piece is tapping against another piece....i hear it while going slow and it bugs the **** out of me!!!I checked the emergency brake line which I thought was hitting on the panhard rod....but I fixed that with a tiewrap and that was not the noise.......I still hear it...what could I check for??

Is it just when going slow? Turning? Braking? Hitting bumps? Loud/quiet? Or just going in a straight line on a glass smooth road? If that's the case, you're probably hitting something on the driveshaft or the wheels, cuz there's not much else that could make the noise.

I dont know if its the same clunking noise, but I used to hear a clunking type of noise at low speed when I was coming to a stop, that was right before my 4.10 gears sheered all the teeth of them selves.

Do you have an adjustable Panhard bar? Mine was making noise because one of the nuts came a little loose. Sounded like a bad clunking/rattle.

same thing here bro.
driving me nuts.
i'm thinking bad shock? or loose bolts that holds the shocks. get an impact wrench and tighten everything; that's what i'm gonna try.
i get it going slowly over slightly bumpy roads; it may occure at higher speeds, but the road noise and exhaust might prevent me from hearing it.

it's like a knock (deep) or rattle.

I doubt it has to do anything with the gears though but I'm definitely gonna check everything and make sure all the nuts and bolts are tight..probably take it to a place where it can be lifted....I'll just tell them to check it all around and retighten everything...thanx for the input!

another tip...
most jacks lift the car up by the chassis and that means that the suspension is uncompressed (the tires hang low). if you really want to find the cause, try to find a lift that raises the car by having the car drive on it, so that the suspension is just like it is on the road; then you'll be able to see how close components come to the chassis in sort of real life. also look for shiny spots on the metal; that would signify rubbing. good luck.
