Default Weight of Fikse Wheels?

I was wondering what the weight of the FM5's in 17x11 and 17x9.5 compared to the stock 01-02 WS6 Wheel. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> -Mike

believe the fronts to be lighter and also perhaps the rear 17x11s also, due to their spun aluminum design versus casting. Im not 100% however.

I have the FM/5's on my Camaro and they are alot lighter than the SLP wheels. I could tell just by holding them in both hands. I would say the weight is around a pound less on each wheel. The fikse wheels are specially designed. They are made of Forged 6061-T6 Aluminum, and are all laser cut to less than .20 millimeters. The rim halves are spun and work hardened by computer numerically controlled machines mate with machined centers. In my opinion they are worth every penny I spent on them, and would reccomend them to anyone.

How do Fikse rims clean up? I see pictures and sometimes they look really cheap and dull and sometimes they look really expensive and shiny. I love the way chrome reflects but hate the weight. Polished rims look good when you buff them but if you drive through a puddle it looks like someone took a steel-wool pad to them. Doesn't seem worth the work to keep them clean. Are Fikse rims hard to keep up? I'm looking at the FM-5's. Too bad they cost $3300 for 17x9.5 and 17x11 set. I've also noticed how sometimes they look like they stick out so far you could trip somebody. I kind of like the look of rims that are just barely tucked inside the wheelwell or even with it up front and a little kicked out in the back. Is that the offset? ZR1's look about perfect with a fbody offset. The corvette offset looks horrible. They are tucked up into the wheelwell TOO much. So what do I ask for? Pics anyone? Thanks.

You can also order the wheels with a clearcoat over then to help protect them and to make clean up a lil easier. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Well I dont know about Fikse but my 18" HRe's weigh 22lbs each.. not bad for a 18" wheel <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Since they use the same "spun" aluminum technology I would assume they are close in weight. My wheels are full polished and then cleared (very easy to maintain).. this is available from Fikse as well.

Love them wheels <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Good luck!
