Default C6 Z06 Brakes on F-body?

Anyone try this yet? I read on corvette forums that you can buy the parts for around 1600$. Of course that is not including the giant rims and tires you would need to make them fit. Would be cool though

There is at least one guy who did it already. Try a search on this forum, I'm sure you'll find it easily since it was pretty recently.

Dont waste your money on them. There plain junk. The right front rotor turns backwards, the pads are thin and ware fast. Your better off with C5 brakes are a real aftermarket brake kit.

The C6 Z06 kit is great for car shows and street use (not a bad thing, just be sure of your application). If you're looking for a track ready upgrade, the C5 stuff is the way to go.

Extreme-Plus brake system from Baer. Part# 4301002 inlcudes 14" x 1.25" slotted & drilled rotors, new 6 piston mono-block calipers, pads, steel hoses, and mounting hardware. It runs $2925 and requires 18" wheels or larger.

A friend of mine with a C6Z hasn't had a problem with the calipers or pads yet his problem is with the rotors. He told me that GM uses 2 "LEFT" rotors on the car, instead of building 2 different rotors they use a single rotor for both sides. (Which means the veins inside the rotor spin backwords on one side) But I also know some European cars do this as well so it can't be all that bad.

Just throw on a set of stoptechs or prostops and call it day. Plus they fit under 17 inch rims too.
