Default My brake pad is loose. What the hell?

So I did my brakes a little while ago, and I realized the reason I changed them (a loud squeal during left turns) didnt go away. I replaced the rear pads again and it still squealed. So one day I decided to just go check them out.
On the left rear wheel, the outer brake pad is loose and it chewed up the surface of the rotor. The inner pad is tight and the rotor is smooth.

Anyone know what could cause the pad being lose? I can move it left to right very slightly, and it makes a clang when i move it where it hits the part of the caliper that's supposed to hold it in place.

I'll have to take it apart tomorrow but I hope i don't need a new caliper :/
