was just wondering if a Wolfe 10pt roll cage for a 4th gen would mount up the same in a 3rd gen? from what i can notice btween my 02 and 91 is there is much less dashboard but evertything else is pretty much the same....i just want to know if the 4th gen cage would tie in the same spots in my 3rd gen?

Funny you should ask ...

We are building a cage in our first 3rd gen and was wondering how much of our templates would transfer over. It appears the back half will fit like a glove.

But the A-Pillars will cause some grief. A 4th gen's windshield/A-Pillars rake back at a steeper angle. So, some modifications would have to take place.

ya ive noticed this too, but i think you got it the other way around. a 3rd gen windshield is actually a steeper of an angle as it is angled more upwards than a 4th gen. and the 4th gen has a longer rake but not as steep. i see what you were getting at though. but i was wondering since the angle on a 3rd gen is with a shorter and steeper rake than that should technically allow more room for the front half of the roll cage to fit shouldnt it? maybe theonly problem that may occur would be on the lower parts of th a pillar near the dashboard as a 4th gens a pillar is a little longer and more gradual of a rake?

That correct.
I tried that before. You have to do some bend on tubing a little to make correct. There wuld work lot.. It wuld be not good look.
I rather buy correct specfic Roll Cage for 3th Camaro.

Well, it appears that even the A-pillar bars will work.

The difference in windshield rake comes from the extended cowling. The distance from the upper dash support to teh main hoop is slightly shorter in a 3rd gen, but that means that the upper leg of the a-pillar is a couple inches shorter.

It was eye-opening.

Now, On a 3rd gen, there is nothing ... I mean NOTHING to attach the A-pillars to the floor. The forward frame rails angle in and follow the tunnel, instead of angling out and meeting the door sill. That's probably why a STB works well on a 3rd gen and does very little on a 4th.

We bui;t floor plates that attaches to the side and rolls down to the floor. We then back cut the A-pillars to intersect the side of the car instead of all of it forces being on the floor.

Here are a few pics of the work in progress. Hope to complete this weekend. waiting on the seat to arrive so that we know where to install the harness bars and the door bars.
