Default Pro-Kit w/ SLP Bilsteins

I have an SS that came stock with the SLP shock/spring combo. I've been dying to lower it, and would like to get a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs, but I'm worried about having to get new shocks too. Would I be okay with the Pro-Kit springs and the stock Bilsteins, or do I really need to get some revalved Bilsteins to maintain my car's handling abilities?

The stock Bilsteins are not valved to properly damp lowering springs, since they have a high spring rate. Even with stock springs they're only adequate at best. You'll at least need some re-valved Bilsteins to maintain your car's ride.

Well it doesn't seem to me that my Bilsteins can't handle the stock springs... my car handles superbly with its current setup. I'd just like it to be lower.

So you're saying that going from 400 lb/in in the front to I guess 550 or 600 lb/in in the front on the stock Bilsteins would really make my handling deteriorate?

Yeah it would. Stock shocks SLP or not are not made to handle lowering springs. Bilstein rivalves or you could step up to Koni's are really your only two options that I can see. There are many threads on this topic JFYI. Goodluck with whatever you do.

at the very minimum i would go with strano revalved bilsteins and strano springs. the best set up. for a great price.
