Bilstein install.....HELP
Do the rear Bilstein HDs come with the mounting bolt permanently in place? If so, how do I fit the bottom of the shock through the mounting bracket?

Are you having trouble getting it in there? Did you unbolt the top of the shock first? You want to first jack up the car, unbolt the top shocks, drop the rear down, then unbolt the bottom.
Refer to ls1howto.com just in case you haven't seen it or are doing a first time install

The old shocks are off. There is a bolt inside the bottom of the new bilstein shock that seems to be "stuck" in there. From pics of bilstein shocks I've seen, that bolt is present, but does it come out is what I'm asking?

I haven't seen a bilstein, just konis. I was assuming you were referring to the stud that sticks out of the side of the shock, that mounts with a nut to the axle bracket. Are not not talking about this stud?

There should be a stud protruding from the bottom side of the shock. On this stud should be a nut. You should be able to remove this nut by turning (the stud should be threaded of course), then slide stud through mounting bracket on axle, then spin the nut right on. If you can't do this, something isn't right.

Got it. Thanks.
Got it in. I was just trying to make sure, because the shocks I took off were made differently. Gabriel Max Control BS...... . They're made w/ the bolt seperate from the shock.
Thanks everyone.
