...and that's ok to mix w/ what's in there?

I don't plan on filling up an entirely empty system.

don't drain it all the way or you'll have to trailer your car and take it to a dealership to have them do a many hundred dollar brake fluid swap with that niffty little scanner that you can't bleed the ABS system w/o...but if you just bleed them the conventional way you should be fine (don't let the master cylinder run dry). it's worth your time because mixing good brake fluid with shitty old fluid could cause problems...not to mention it'll make your new fluid shitty in a heartbeat.

take your time and bleed them the old fashion way. i went through close to half my bottle of ATE just to make sure all the old crap was out.

If I add new stuff, it's going to mix, that's inevitable!

I'm sure if I keep bleeding, I will eventually notice a difference in color. Is that what I should shoot for?

Where would I get the ATE super blue DOT4?

Yes. Also, since ATE Super Blue is actually blue, it will be obvious.

Sam Strano.
If you don't see it on his site, call him. I know he has it. I bought my bottles from him over the phone.

I don't have the time to wait for it to be shipped, I might try calling around to some speed shops tomorrow to find it!

I was going to ask if I need to bleed all 4 brakes, but I answered my own Q by reading the Haynes manual.

Good Q Yahelou, About how many bottles will I need?

1 bottle, but if you are shipping, buy 2 so you have one for next time. 1 blue and one yellow.

Brake fluid has a shelf life. Anything a year or more old shouldn't be trusted, even in a sealed container.

If your car is just a street car and won't see any AX or road course duty, Valvoline makes a good street brake fluid. Available almost everywhere. Comes in a gold bottle.

Yeah, that Valvoline is what I've been using in my F-body's for the past few years. I'm happy with it so far. Haven't tracked at all with it yet though. I'll probably order some ATE before Road America.

So does it expire after one year in a car as well, even with very little use?

Most suggest you do a fluid flush once a year.
