So the PHR is completely disconnected from the mounting bracket on the chassis? If so, I would be very careful driving. It may not be a heavy part, but the PHR is basically the only part that keeps your rear end centered between the wheel wells.

If you take a left hand turn to hard, you could push the rear end to the driver's side and get serious issues, foremost being possibly damaged tires and bent lower control arms.

This happened to me before. This was the older design BMR adjustable PHB. I heard some thumping noise when I went over speed bumps. The noise happened from the broken parts banged on each other when the car twisted. It took me a few months to find out that the PHB was broken. I replaced it as soon as I found out but still not sure what kind of damage had been done to my car though.

Mine started rattling (adj on both ends) over small bumps after a few years, so I put the stock bar back on...you kept your stock one, right?

That's cool that they're replacing it for you. You should see if they made the bolt thicker or anything. Like everyone else said, you can drive it if you have to, you wont have any problems, but if you drive it for a long time eventually things will break.

How much stronger is the UMI PHR than as stock one? I have a hard time replaceing the stock one (only 13K mi) on it for an aftermarket one that might break. I was looking at the non adjustable version. Thanks

in general, aftermarket ones are stronger, by far. not to bash BMR, but their design is somewhat faulty by putting the adjustment in the middle. it creates a stress point right in the middle of the bar. i would reccomend staying away from that one. i have two UMI bars. one is a double adjustable that i just put on my car, and a non-adjustable that i'm putting on my buddies V6 car. both are solid pieces and i could never imagine breaking them. the stocker is weak, replace it and be happy
