I do know the C5 Z06 calipers will bolt right up and they are powder coated red fromt he factory.
I have a set sitting in my garage brand new still in the same box they were shipped in if you're intrested.

You only need the braket if you want to use the Corvette rotors. If you want to keep the FBody rotors you will not need the braket. Please research your answer before saying stuff in the future.
Thanks

You can get powdercoated calipers from Kragen or Autozone. The only thing is that I think they are remanufactured and not new. They aren't that expensive either, if you have cores to turn in.

Also, UMI is only one company who makes the c5 brackets. Trackbird, LG makes some, and theres one or a few others. If I were to get any, I'd go with the Trackbird brackets since they've had years of testing and are engineered really well to stand up to heat and are durable.

The Corvette calipers have smaller pistons than the f-body calipers, so if you don't use the larger Corvette rotors, you'll push the brake proportioning rearward and may lengthen your stopping distance due to the rotors not being able to exert as much pressure.

i've done this mod and went with the vette rotors. Had to modify the spindle, but, the brackets that I bought were worth every single penny. Very high quality. read my sig.....i think they are made by Trackbird now.

Google NHT brake calipers, they are available on the net from some non-sponsors. I have a set on the way as we speak. They are direct replacements, re-built and powder coated, and not too expensive after the considerable core rebate.

the bottom bolt hole on the spindle that the caliper bracket bolts to.

damn it........i did this mod 3 years ago and I cannot for the life of me remember which one. The directions should say. I also added some black paint over the cut area just to prohibit any rust that may form. You'll never see it, but, i did it for my own piece of mind.

ghardester.....before I type any more information, it might depend on whose brackets you buy. The ones I bought (very high quality), required me to cut off the tab with a sawzall (took 1 minute to do). I just painted the exposed "flesh" to prevent any possible rust forming on it.
