Default Who has 1/2" bolts in their LCAs?

Trying to chase down this clunking is infuriating. I finally pulled the stock bolt out of the stock LCAs, and found a LOT of play between the bolt and the bushing hole. So I went to Lowes and found a 1/2" Grade 8 bolt that was the same length. I got back and found that it fit more snugly than the OEM 12mm, but still not perfect. Is it a 13mm hole?

The next thing was trying to get it through the body mount hole. This was made worse by the presence of SLP SFCs what have been welded in.

And I can't even thread it through because the threads stop part way up the shaft.

Those who have done it, can you give me a walkthrough?

Thanks.

I was going to use 1/2" bolts when I changed mine on the z28, but I noticed the body mount holes were to small and I had no way of being able to make them bigger. No room to get a drill or anything in there. I just ordered some lca's for the ss and I got the bolt kit to go with it this time. They will be here monday. I can let you know what they consist of then

I use 1/2" on both LAKEWOOD LIFT bars and on PAVLOCK adjustable LCA, and nureled the 1/2" so no slack, used a small die grinder to enlarge the mounting holls in body and rear mounts, I have "0" slop

Factory control arms use 12mm bolts. I don't think changing to 1/2" bolts will cure your problem.

Yes, 12mm bolts, but the holes are at *least* 12.5mm (1/2"). In fact, even that has a little play in it, the holes in the OEM LCA bushings might actually be 13mm.

if you use 12mm or 1/2" or even 13mm. if you don't have it tight it will still clunk from time to time.
tighten your bolts to 80ft/lbs
if that doesn't stop it got to 90, then 100.
if it doesn't stop after 100. it aint your control arms
