Question Passenger side sitting lower than driver side?

I recently bought a 98 camaro (reason for me joining this site). It needs a little work but is in generally decent running shape, just needs a little TLC. I didn't notice but it was brought to my attention that the passenger side sits slightly lower than the driver's side by almost an inch when measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well. I'm no pro or anything but I did a quick check of the suspension and nothing seemed out of place. The rear shocks looked like they were newer. It drives fine, no complaints there.

Any ideas why this would be?

I was told that the car sat for a while before the small dealer I bought it from got it. Not sure where it was sitting, but if it had been sitting on a hill with the passenger side on the higher ground than the driver side could that have done it?

Oh really, that's odd. Any idea as to why they are like that?

What I heard where it's true or not I don't know, but that they (GM) had to offset the motor to the right there for causing the right side lean.

Ah OK. You'd think that maybe they'd counterbalance it somehow, but as long as it is nothing abnormal then I won't worry about it. Thanks

My TA has always had a factory DS lean - sometimes it can be aggrevated by an owner that replaces the rear springs, but does not make sure that the tail of the spring is in the proper position when putting in the new ones...
