Default QA1 Shocks hitting Ford 9 in Need Help!!

I recently installed my QA1 shocks and stock dust covers on the rear with my Ford 9 in but I think I did something wrong because the bottom of the shock hits the mounting point on the Ford 9 in. Was I suppose to not us the dust cover or did I not install them right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of the problem is the rubber bushing is too compliant for the QA1, which is distorting and allowing the contact.
You can add another washer to the mounting point. That should move the shock away. But if the bushing wears you will hit again. Is there a spherical rod bearing option for the QA1.

So you think I should add another washer? I wish QA1 would have gave me everything to install these. I had to buy the bolts and washers from a hardware store. Any one else have any ideas?

Bolts and washers from a hardware store?!!!!
Dang I hope you got shanked bolts of the proper diameter and hardness. That is not a place you want a bolt to fail.

But to answer your question a washer/shim should the trick.

You should also be able to by the lower shock mounting attachment . The mount is pretty generic for solid axle cars .

I am not sure if they are shanked or not. I might have to get some new ones. Where else could I find the bolts at for these shocks? Do you know where I can find the lower shock mounting atachment you are talking about? Thanks for the help.
