Default 2 point VS. 3 point

Im am currently in the market for buying sub frame connectors and i was wondering whats the difference between the 2 point UMI and the 3 point UMI. Do you get better traction from the 3 points? If anyone has these please let me know the up's and downs between the two. thanks

Upside to 3 points: They are stiffer because they triangulate the floorpan.
Upside to 2 points: They are cheaper and lighter

You really won't see a difference in traction either way, they aren't traction devices. They are chassis stiffening devices.

I've heard lots of things that just aren't true. I find no help in traction from them (because they don't effect weight transfer, or instant center, or wheelhop), but maybe someone has some specifics as to why they feel they do.

SFC's aren't bad things, and if you have a lot of power and twist the car on launching you should have them, simple for longevity. They are not traction magic.

Many people will say they increase traction but it isn't so. As stated connectors tie the car together through the weak center section and make it more ridged. I use triangulated 3 point unints and while they didn't help traction they did stiffen up the chassis, improve handling, and quiet down a lot of squeaks and other noises the body used to make. THe overall feel might make you feel like you have better traction though.

I would say a good set of SFC are the first chassis modification you should make. Your suspension components are only as good as the chassis they are mounted to.

Do the 3 point interfer with anything or get in the way of taking out the tranny, y-pipe, or driveshaft? I want to get the weld in SFC but i dont want to have the cross over bar be in my way of everything.

No, our 3-Point SFC's will not interfer with anything at all.

Hope that helps!
