Default No Cutting C5 Brake Conversion??

Which brand of relocation brackets will allow me to run C5 pads and rotors and not require that I cut off the ear on the spindle? I did a bunch of searching and come up confused?? Thankssssssssssss

No you will not be able to run the C5 pads with the f-body calipers. The LG brackets allow you to run either c5 calipers/pads or the stock f-body calipers/pads.

I just read the sticky. Where do you find C5 rotors for $20?

Question:
Does the LGM brackets only option ($295) come with HPS pads?

Their web page is confusing.

I don't think it does. I think if you get the brackets only option, the pricing on the other stuff doesn't apply. I'd just call them and buy stuff over the phone, just to make sure.

totally wrong.......... the LG bracket makes you re use the f-body abutment pad bracket.... therefore you have to use f-body pads .... c5 and f body caliper are exactly the same .. except for pressure baising... a don't care in physical fitment..... the key is whatever abutment bracket you use determines the pads that you are going to use....

Does anyone have pictures of the visual difference between the C5 front and rear calipers vs. say an 02 F body? Would this no cutting conversion work with a C5 ZO6 caliper set up as well? Has anyone done any stopping comparison to show the performance benefit of the C5 calipers vs. the F body. Sorry for so many questions but I am looking to do either a C5 or C6 brake upgrade if I can not spring for a big brake set up.

1. differences between fbody and c5 calipers.... c5 are pressure cast verses the gravity cast... reduces the chance of caliper spreading during road racing... c5 uses smaller pistons.. this redues the brake baising but due to the fact the c5 uses a 12.8" rotor it even outs

2. no difference between c5 and z06 c5 ... z06 caliper red... appearence

3. c5 vs c6 ... based on what i read no real diference..physical tolerences are different but uints are most defiently interchangeable

4. c6 z51 uses a different PAB and a .6 larger rotor.... 13.4"

5. c6 z06.. uses a 14" requires 18" wheels and a 6 pistion caliper... most road racers do not like this caliper due to uneven pad wear...

i would use :
trackbracts or umi... dont like kore3 due to materials choice
c5 calipers .. either stand black or z06 red... your color choice
c6 z51 PAB
c6 z51 rotors... i dont think GM has correct the problem but they run the left side backwards reducing the vanes cooling effect... go with aftermarket or non-directional
hawk pads..

Thanks that is a lot of good info. I will probably do what you suggest especially since the C5 calipers already come painted, I want black. What is PAB, sorry I am still learning about brake set ups?

pad abutment bracket....... used to define what pad and rotor you use... sort of like a factory adapter bracket
