I have Hawk HPS on my car for about a year and they still have amazing stopping power and I have never even seen any brake dust and I have TT2's so I know how you feel about the polished look lol.

I have hawk HPS on my car as well and after a week of daily driving my car, the wheels are just about black. I do love the stopping power they provide tho.

Go with the ceramics. I ran HPS pads for 1 full season, and my wheels went for a crap. Granted, I wasn't staying on top of keeping the wheels clean (just the silver painted "snowflake" rims, but still) but the brake dust pitted them really bad.

This year I switched to ceramic pads (not Hawk, just a generic brand - "Satisfied" brakes??) and they've been working great . Not only have I been happy with them on the street, but I've also done a few track events (road course) and they've worked exceptionally well there too!

As far as keeping the wheels clean? WAY easier. AND, they don't squeal like the HPS pads did .

The HPS pads have better stopping power but will produce more dust than the ceramics. I have ceramics but with my slotted rotors, theres a little more dust. I think they have very good stopping power.

Only if you don't install your brakes properly. Mine are SILENT.

I really like my HPS pads, I see very very little dust on the wheels ever. I try to clean the wheels once a week or so, more often when I have time, but usually too busy. I don't clean the insides of the wheels as often (behind the spokes) but I haven't had any pitting of the paint on my stupid snowflake wheels from the dust...and it does come right off with Meguiars "All Wheel" cleaner.

I run ATE Rotors, which have that wave patterned single continuous slot in them, and the dusting isn't bad at all...the stopping power is great...does great from high speed and through repeated stops too...I do about 300 miles a week or so mixed city and highway...dust just isn't that bad at all, I've had WAY WAY worse before.

I have HPS on my car and they have pretty good stopping power for a non-race pad. They really aren't loud although they do dust a bit.

HP Plus for daily, blues or blacks for track days. HP plus can be noisy on very cold mornings, blues almost always noisy on the street.

Ceramics from advance auto parts $55 bucks. Don't remember the brand but they work great . Zero brake dust , very little noise in hot or cold, don't fade with hot, last a couple of years so far maybe longer

I have a squealing sound coming from my rear drivers side tire now and i think its coming from the pads being worn out. I have chrome firehawk wheels so which of these pads would be the best?

I like the HPS, they worked damned good for me. They did dust like mad at time, and little others. Guess it depends on you driving style. They love to be hot though, very fews time did i hear them. Only when the weather was very cold, and i was on my 1-3 stops of the drive. Other than that great pad, i'm waiting for my current pads to expire so i can get a set.

I wanna give the HP Plus's a shot, even more stopping power than the HPS or Ceramics...

I think the way it works(to a certain extent) is the softer the pad, the more breaking power.

The ceramics are made of rock (literally) and very hard. The HPS are made from metal(semi-metallic) and are softer than ceramic, but create more by-product and also need more heat to work effectively. The HP Plus's I don't think are much softer than the HPS, but they require more heat to work correctly or put another way, they have fade resistance built-in!

I did the C-5 front brake conversion this summer. Came as a kit with new rotors, calipers, conversion brackets and Hawk HP pads. I did it for the larger rotors because I was tired of warped stock ones, and also for the bling. I'm happy with everything but the brake dust.

Front wheels (stock '02 WS-6 wheels) get coated with reddish black dust real soon, a couple of days maybe, by the end of a week it's the dirtiest part of the car. Almost all the driving is curvy 2 lane road so the brakes get used more. But, damn, I'm tired of trying to keep the front wheels clean. I'll run these pads until spring and then change to ceramic, I think. But your opinions are welcome, that's why I'm here.

I recently picked up some Hawk HPS on Brembo drilled rotors from the WS6store.com and they have great stopping power, not to mention they are very quiet. I really haven't noticed dust either.
