Default how much will it hurt my traction to lower my car?

i hate the damn.. fendergap and want it to go,

but i both got lt's, and go almoast any week at the strip, and my 60f are bad enough allready,

is there any way to both lower the rideheigth and get traction? or at least not hurt it,

i was thinking about stranos shocsk/springs and some good sway bars,

How much you wanna lower it?

I droped mine 1" and added some LCA relo drop brackets and I am good to go. With my cheap *** monroe shocks I have cut a 1.45 60' on teh juice and 1.5X 60' all day N/A.. I also have the front sway bar off as well to help transfer weight.

Lowering your car will hurt your 60fts. (all else equal) theres really no way to get around it. But honestly, unless your some really serious drag racer who cares? Your car is a street car right? Strano springs and strano's bilstiens (or konis) will completely change the way the car drives, it will actually take corners and you can feel what the chassis is doing.

I know mine hooks better the way it is now, then when it was stock.

Hence me saying "all else equal". If you were on stock springs(with the mods you have, and no swaybar), they would allow more weight transfer to the rear.

A lot of people race lowered cars, a guy I know runs low 8's on a 275 60 15 drag radial in turbo camaro with the lower control arms still in the stock location, so doing it is obviously possible.

Biggest thing it just trying to correct the angles of the torque arm and lower control arms, an adjustable torque arm and lower control arm relocation brackets should take car of this.

Everything was equal... Im saying that when it was stock height and no sway bar, I would get wheel hop from time to time and had some traction issues..
Since, I just lowered it and added the 1" LCA relo brackets, the car dead hooks.

Since all that, I have added some suspension mods but what I said above was when the car pretty much stock, before and after lowering it.

if you want to get rid of the tire gap AND get better 60's, just get bigger tires

Not trying to start an argument, but all else was not equal.

my plans where to get relocation brackets, adjustable control arms, panhard par, and floor mounted adjustable torque arm, stranos springs and good shocks,

i think 1.2" would be low enough

Why don't you use a front shock that gives you spring hight adjustment and use a 2 1/2" spring in the rear and use an adjustable spring mount?

Then you can raise or lower your car any time you want and you'll have TONS of spring rate options going to a 2 1/2" coilover spring.

You won't be screwed if you change rims and tires because you'll be able to adjust the spring hight to fit multiple choices and applications.

other option is to have two set ups.. low and stiff at driving, and take the swaybars out and install some softer set up for the track when i go there

Unless your car is a full-on drag car....lowering isn't going to effect you that much. I lowered my 00' SS (way back in 00') and was told that I'd never get it to 60ft worth a damn. They were wrong.

With Eibach lowering springs, QA1 shocks up front, removed front sway and everything else stock...I cut consistent 1.5x's w/ a Heads/cam 6 speed. Keep in mind, this was about 7 years ago before Adjustable-ANYTHINGS were available for Fbodies.

I'm lowered 1.25" with Vogtland springs and Koni DA's on front and SA's on rear. I've added a single adjustable PHB and bolt on LCA brackets. Unlowered stock suspension had 1.86 60' times and just went for the first time since I lowered it last weekend to a different track and was pulling 1.86 60' times there as well on a crappy prepped track. Both stock and lowered times were run on 255/50/16 MT DR's.

I wouldnt worry about it. I lowered my car 1.2" and i cut a 1.9 60' without lowering tire pressure on my worn out Falkens. I am afraid to break the stock rearend anyhow.
