In my car the brakes work fine for like 2 miles, after that the pedal is stiff and wont move at all, and you can feel the brakes are on and smell them burning, and almost caused me to wreck, changed brake booster and still same problem, any help would be greatly apreciated

Damaged calipers(pistons), lines, sliding pins?
Have you checked any of those?

Did this just all of a sudden start happening or had you done any brake work prior to this? Have you checked to see if you have a rotor that may be warped. Should not be this hard to figure this out. Just hate you having to spend so much cash with no positive result. You say it seems to be from the right side . Is it possible the right side is doing all the work and the problem is actually coming from the left. Just a thought. Would like to have the car in front of me to try and help you out. Good luck

_____________________ ORIGINAL MESSAGE _____________________

Hi gang,got a customer here w/pontiac G/Am='00 w/abs= when
it's driven over 10 miles,brakes begin to lock-down,today he
drove a little further;church,etc. + brks.locked solid,had to
tow it,the brk's had cooled enough to drive a short distance
into bay. I loosened m/cyl from booster;did-not help;wheels
still wouldn't turn,finally loosened L/F bleeder+ all wheels
began to turn,Though it was a brk. hose because l/f cal.
piston would not retract untill i opened the bleeder
valve;;;replaced hoses/pads+ bled + o.k. for 12 miles+ noticed
no more brk.pedal free-play,was able to get it back to bay But
real hot,not smoking though, like it had w/ him. Loosened Rear
m/cyl. line+wheels turned freely. WHAT'S going on,do i need a
m/cyl, please help, g.b.

___________________ TEST AND REPAIR DATA ___________________

TESTING AND RESULTS

brk.light swx. - properly adjusted cruise swx. - properly
adjusted booster pushrod - not touching/ ALSO non-adjustable

RELATED REPAIR HISTORY

Frt pads 5 wks ago=now overheated/crumbling of pads; inners.

__________________________ SUMMARY__________________________

Hi All, i got 8 replies + most said 'contaminated brake system
+master cylinder cup seals swelled/as well as possibly
calipers w/cyl's etc, i did replace the frt. hoses previous to
request + flushed system/adjusted stoplite swx. Customer said
the next day that It was acting O.K., therefore he has not
returned,If he does i will reinitiate Help request,or
close/w-fix. My opinion after the work was: it still has a
problem binding down/heating brks, but he seems satisfied for
the time being, thanx, g.b.

Hopfully this will help
