Default Narrowing the a-arms?

Has anyone ever done this? I HATE the way 3.5's look on the front of f-bodies. The roads here in FL are terrible, and thats being nice. I have 275's on the front of my car and it follows ever rut in the road. I am thinking of putting 15x3.5 Bogarts or Trackstars or something on the front of my car as well as 15x10"s on the back. I have gotten to the point of not liking to drive my car because I feel like I'm in a boxing ring fighting the damn wheel going down the road. I thought that if I narrowed the a-arms I could tuck the wheel up under the fender some more. I Trans Am's seem to look better then the Camaros. Please post any experiences or suggestions.

your sig says that sams springs, bars and revalves are on the way... it would be stupid IMO to spend that kind of money on top notch suspension then put 3.5's on.

Also.. why not wait til that stuff comes in and you get a good alignment.. I bet a lot of the trouble goes away. My wandering problems were virtually eliminated by my Koni's

It will dramatically change the geometry... and quite possibly make it a danger to yourself and to anyone else on the road.

Besides a 3.5" wheel and tire package isnt going to change the road going characteristics. Your roads suck... and changing a wheel and tire isnt going to change that fact.

Maybe you should try a different tire manufacturer ?? I know some that will hunt all over the place... and a simple change in tire and manufacturer got rid of the hunting issue.

Just a thought.

why not try a little toe-in (-1/16 to -1/8), more caster (+6 deg.) and like -.5 camber. Shoul make you track better in a straight line. Make sure all your shocks and bushings are in good shape.

Thanks for all the suggestions. If I stay with the 17's, I'm gonna go with GS-D3's

I have decided to rebuild the whole front end of my car starting with all new shocks and springs. Thanks for everyone suggestions. I'm going to go with 18x9 in the front and 18x10's in the rear. I'm gonna go with a good tire, like GS-D3's. What do you guys think? The tire sizes I'm thinking of are 265/35/18 frt and 295/35/18 in the rear.

Just an opinion but i felt like the car wandered more going from 17's to 18's. But that was before strano's and koni's. After shocks and springs, wandering is virtually gone except for when the road is really bad, and i live in NY...

Thanks Nitro, I'm gonna go with all Sam's goodies too. Some of the roads down here are bad too and the damn DOT is always tearing the roads up to play with their big Tonka toys!!!

Just an update so far, I work at a Chevy dealership, so I have access to the service dept. I had one of the techs do an alignment, it was out. We looked at all the bushings and they are fine, a little dry but still in good shape. We did notice that the rag joint was worn. I want to try the UE rag joint eliminator. I'm socking away the loot for the new wheels, tires, and all new suspension goodies. The alignment helped a little. I want to enjoy my car again dammit!!!
