Whats the point of coilovers?

Default Whats the point of coilovers?

What exactly are coilovers and what are the benefits of using them? I did a search and came up with nothing? Whats the deal with these things? (yes im a newbie to the mod world ) Thanks guys

Coil overs are shocks that mount springs around them and let you adjust the shock valve rate, use a smaller spring which gives you more clearance and weighs less, lets you adjust ride hight of the car and gives you a lot more options for spring rate than standard size springs.

Yep, less bulky and weigh in short terms...
