Anyone Worked With Hydraulics? (as in lowriders)
Hey guys, I'm working on an idea to use my coilovers along with an adjustable ride height system using a hydraulic cylinder.
Something either like this:
Or like this:
I just need to ask some basic questions like:
Can I use a single pump?
Can the front corners be isolated so as not to have fluid move from one side to the other and make the car lean in corners.
What voltage would the pump need to raise the car slowly? (I don't need super strength or speed like most lowrider cars)
Would the single battery under the hood be sufficient to raise the car with the engine on? What about with the engine off?
What does a typical pump/motor combo weigh?
This setup is just so different than the typical lowrider setup, The lowrider forums don't seem to have much info. (I was hoping I wouldn't have to sign up to ask these questions)

I'm figuring it out slowly.

go to streetsourcemag.com and signup and go to the suspention section and post ur question i'm on there and there are some really smart fabricators on there that have done this befor and could ask all ur questions

I plan to use some shorter coilovers and mount a cylinder right on top of the shock without the rocker mechanism. I might even be able to fit the whole thing under the fender well for stealth. If not, the cylinder will come through the fender sheetmetal, but still not poke through the hood.
I started a new thread on this:

The real advantage you see with the rocker setup is less unsprung weight and better packaging, but those are not a big concern for me.
