Brake fade
I have an '01 Formula with 295/35/18 on the rear and 255/40/17 on the front. I had to make a panic stop from about 75mph and had severe brake fade. The front pads are fairly new so I just replaced the rear but the problem is still there. Also from even slower speeds the brakes won't lock up.
Any ideas?

if your brakes lock up you will not stop as fast. Your car is equiped with an anti-lockup system. It should feel like a very rapid pulse or vibration when you stand on the brakes. If not then you have a problem but your ABS light should be on if it is not working.

The "best" pads from chain stores usually aren't very powerful. Most folks are much more worried about clean, or cheap than anything else.
Have you put in new brake fluid lately? You should if you haven't. And you need to bleed the system to get rid of all air.

Yea, if you want good pads buy a set of hawks or EBC Greens. Though both will increase the wear on your rotors. Another option is to buy better aftermarket rotors. Powerslots IMO are the best for the money.
