Default what shocks do you reccomend

hey guys im new here i just got a 99 trans am and its really low. and if i have any one in the back seats it bottoms out. I put it on a lift the other day and it doesnt hit the bump stomps and my mechanic friends said its my shock bottoming out. Do you guys have any suggestions about a stiffer or shorter travel shock. Thanks

Eibachs do sit low to begin with. You will get a lot of guys telling you to go with koni's. That is the best shock for a lowered f-body. I love the koni's I have.

k thanks for the input guys.. i have adjustible panhard rod, front and rear sway bars, hotchkiss strut, lower control arms, and subframe connectors and billstein shocks and eibach springs. Does anyone else have this problem because if i have 4 people in my car every little bump it just bottoms really hard. My friend/mechanic said nothing is hitting its just the shock bottoming out. So should i just get some konis? If i do will this make the car sit higher or lower?

the reason you're bottoming out is because the eibach springs are way too low for those bilstein shocks to handle. those shocks (unless they've been revalved for the specific spring you're using) are only really good for stock springs, or maybe a spring that has a very minimal drop.

unfortunately, you will still likely be bottoming out even if you get some good shocks, like the Koni adjustable ones.....just not as hard. the prokit/sportlines do look really good, but they're just too low for a car that's actually driven more than just on the weekends

think about it....the more you drop the car, the less travel there is in the shocks, which limits their effectiveness

Konis!!! or call Strano and get some revalved bilsteins that are properly valved for your springs. out of the box bilsteins are not a good match for the pro kit... and i hope you dont have sportlines, cuz then your just screwed.

KONIs aren't the best for our cars...just the bust for less than $1000.
If you want the best, I've seen sets up to $3000 and I'm sure there are some more than that.
