shock/spring options giving me a headache
I have around 650 to spend, no more than 700, for a good shock/spring setup. I have done searching and i have decided upon the strano springs as they are highly praised. I daily drive this car with occasional drag racing (going to the track no more than 3-4 times a year, some stoplight use aswell) I will be getting 17in 17x11 zr1s with 555r 315s. Id like it to handle nicely on the street, no be too stiff on the freeway, and still squat a bit for hard launches. I've searched KYB agx, people say garbage, i've searched tokico, another negative. I just cant find something in my shock price range (400-475) that has good reviews. Can any one point me in the right direction please? thank you.

Easy Answer here. There is no shocks in your price range that fill your bill. If you can have the money for new tires and wheels first put them toward the konis. Shocks like other things is get what you pay for. Why does a 90mm fast cost 900 bucks. When you can get an ls6 for 300. Well a stock car, you don't really need the 90mm, the ls6 works fine. Same way with shocks. Like how you have to upgrade springs if you put a huge cam. Sure the 100 springs might hold for 1000 miles, then blowup, so why pay for the dual ones for 275? Peaple are willing to way for other things, but think supension should be cheap when nothing for the ls1 is super cheap it shouldn't be a suprise.
Not trying to be mean. But Maybe you should get konis on stock springs they handle very well.

well i went with bilsteins and stranos, hopefully i wont be dissapointed. I just want it to handle a bit better and launch better (which is definately will with stock 245s vs the 315 555r's im getting) If i dislike this setup i'll probably just go with qa1's

My friend has qa1's and it rides pretty nicely, and it launches extremely hard, squats and lifts the front end up a bit. Id say my focus is for 70% launching 30% handling. Either way i doubt i'll be dissapointed with this setup as stock sucks. I hate the weight transfer of stock, if i punch it in first gear it'll break loose and i shift 2nd gear and im fighting to keep it straight, feels like the weight transfer is throwing me all around the place. I can't imagine what it'd be like to use the nitrous in 1st or 2nd gear with theses crappy tires. When i had 275 zo6's in the rear it would still spin through 3rd gear but it was much more managable to keep it straight.

A shock made more for handling in mind is going to give better feel, control, and ride.
