Default WTB LG Bracket for C5 conversion

I want to get the LG brackets in the Brake FAQ sticky so I can run C5 rotors but when I click on the link, I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know if they still make them and where I can find a set?

Yeh, LG Motorsports has the bolt on brackets that don't require cutting ---->

Don't bother using their web page for these, it is messed up and they don't do any maintenance.

Well, many would consider them overpriced but they work well and don't require cutting the spindles. The LG vendor is lacking good client service IMO, thu...

If you can do the entire C5 conversion job for <600 that would be good; right?

LG brackets = 300
C5 Brembo rotors = 120
new Hawk f-body pads = 80

...just re-use the f-body abutment brackets, and f-body calipers and you did this for 500USD. If your current pads are still pristine, save another 80 bucks.

f-body calipers have more clamping force, anyway.

If you don't mind cutting the spindles, go with another vendor for the brackets only and cut the brake bracket cost down. I beleive all these others, require spindle cutting and removal of the wheel hubs which much more labor intensive, however.

Switching to c5 calipers and c5 abutment brackets and c5 pads is not necessary and does not result in any performance gain, anyway. ..dito for SS lines.

..you R doing this for performance gains so don't be impressed with red painted parts that costs a bunch but does nada....

Thanks Robert. I was looking into the UMI brackets: only $90 and require cutting but do not work with F body calipers. You MUST use C5 calipers and brackets. Does anyone else make a bracket that'll work?

I have LS1 spindles and calipers now for my LT1 conversion. Do I need to buy new bearings and all or are the ones I have on my current spindles interchangeable?

Woah, Woah. Check your sources.

Personally, I don't believe that switching to a C5 Brake System is worth the money/hassle. Check my thread entitled, "Back to the Drawing Board." I have some info regarding the 60-0 Ft. times on the 97-04 Corvette's vs. the 98-02 F-Body's. The F-Body's 60-0 Ft. times were a few feet shorter than the Corvette's meaning that they perform better. What's shocking is that the F-Body's performed better with a "weaker" brake system and an extra 300 lbs.

When swapping the systems, your taking a step forward, but taking a step right back again. What I mean for example is that the C5 Calipers are pressure-cast for added strength but the pistons are smaller than the F-Body's. So here are the pros and cons:

F-Body Brake System:

-Gravity Cast Calipers
-Larger Pistons
-Smaller Rotors (11.8")
-Smaller Pads (Even though the Calipers are the same size, the C5 Calipers house slightly larger pads)

Corvette Brake System:

-Pressure-Cast Calipers
-Smaller Pistons
-Larger Rotors (12.8")
-Larger Pads

I was going to do the swap but thought it wasn't worth the money.

If you want some good Conversion Brackets, PM me. I know of a site that sells them.
