Default Koni shocks, adjusting them

So in theory the firmer the rear shocks are set, the less the wheel would spin? Or is it full soft to gain better traction?

Full soft to help the weight transfer to stay over the rear. Unhooking your front swaybar when you get to the track helps too but I would never run it unhooked on the street.

Is it obvious when you've reached the limit one way or the other?

I mean, does it just stop moving when you're setting it softer or harder?

I just don't want to damage anything.

I'm in the process of installing now and have other questions in a different thread if anyone can help.

The Konis will stop when they are maxed out. You'll know...

Also if you want good weight transfer, set the FRONT shocks to full soft so there is less resistance from raising the front end on a launch. The rears on mine are always set at full soft no matter what the circumstances.

Hi HPJunky,

Thanks for the reply!

Can you help on my thread asking for help installing?

You're one of the reasons I decided to spend the bucks on Koni!

Thanks,
John

besides track duty, would you get better street traction on a firmer rear setting or still full soft?

Im not sure. What you would be adjusting is the rear rebound setting, so setting it higher would create more resistance for the spring to rebound from its compressed state. I guess it could hold the spring in a compressed possition longer, and if combined with a front setting on full soft, it may allow the rear to squat and the front to raise. Guess you'll have to try it and let us know.
