Default grinding booboo

wel i was grinding for my new 15x8 draglites when it broke through the caliper bracket. ***** hollow! not a very big break just about half the size of the moon on your thumb. what should i do to fix this? hard putty? weld? thanks again

wow, ground a little much off, lol. were you fitting as you were grinding or did you say fu*k it and went to town. I don't know if that is going to hurt you or not, i would think it would being it is lubricated w/ grease.

I got the wheel on and off easly 10 times. I'm just going to get a junkyard piece and do it over again

ya im getting new brackets and regrinding. i had the wheels off and on the car a bunch of times and the last time where i broke it, and went too far because i was sick of putting them on and off.

That's interesting.... I never saw that before. Does grinding down the caliper and bracket sacrifice any of the structural integrity?

That's not a hole in the end of the caliper bracket is it? That would be awkward if you were forcing out the grease from a hole in the back.

well, he ended up closing it with cold weld. but in that thread it seems like breaking through the calipers is a common thing.

Now that I'm home and the first set of pictures aren't blocked like they are at work... I just noticed the above pictures.

Yeah that doesn't seem like such a good idea There's a hole on the other side of the bracket. That's where the caliper pins slide and are lubed. That looks like an accident waiting to happen.
