Default Frozen caliper slide pins - where to get parts.

I am installing new rotors and pads on my brothers 2000 Trans Am and found that 3 of the caliper slide pins are completely frozen. I have been spraying penetrating lube on them all day and they will not break loose.

1) is this common?
2) where (besides a stealership) can i get the parts for a good price?

This is what i need:

Thanks for any help,
-Mike

I had the same problem on one of my brackets, both pins were frozen. I used a torch to heat up the pins and the bracket and was able to get the pin to break loose. You really have to heat the pin up a lot to get it to break loose. I heated mine till the grease started bubbling out of the hole around the pin and then grabbed a vice grip and worked it loose. Then I ran to autozone and picked up a kit that came with new pins.

If you decide to try heating the pins with a torch pull the rubber boot off 1st

Boots were dry rotted, so they are toast anyway.

I pulled the "bracket" off the car, fixed it in the vice and then worked it free using some muscle.

yeah I've had that problem as well. penetrating oil, heat, and a vice what I did.. after that I cleaned the bores out and got new pins and hardware. Found out that some Autozone stock the bolt/pins, hardware kit (boots, springs etc..), as well as complete new rear brake brackets (Front brackets are only available at the dealer only still) Usually only the larger Autozone stores stock them though others will have to order them.

You can try Oreillys, When I got my new bracket it didn't come with pins so I got a set from them when autozone didn't have them in stock
