Default Best Torque Arm/Adjustable worth the extra $$$

I was just wondering what was the best torque arm available in the market today. It seems to come down to either BMR or UMI, but I've seen others available as well such as edelbrock. Ive recently added some mods to my car such as: performabuilt level 2 tranny, 3500 stall, LS6 intake, Cam, headers & more and I'm thinking that i will be having some traction issues at the track, especially off the launch, so I'm thinking about getting a better torque arm now. Im just wanting to know which one will best suit me. Also, is an Adjustable Torque Arm that much better?

yes you will want an adj torque arm so you can adjust your pinion angle to what you want. Don't waste your time getting a non adj torque arm

I just got my Jeg's adjustable torque arm in the mail. I've heard good things about it and it was only $310.

Hello,

Thanks for the interest in our product

I do as well recommend a adjustable set-up. The non-adjustable set-up works well, however if your desires are not meant with using it you are unable to make changes with the non-adjust. set-up. On a adjustable set-up you can adjust driveline angle in order to improve traction as well as correct pinion angle if the vehicles height has been changed.

We have a adjustable arm starting at $299.99 that can be seen here- www.umiperformance.com/2205

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thank you!
Ryan

Do you want a stock style one or a shorter one? The shorter ones are a bit more serious, for them you can go with madman, burkhart, and bmr has 2 versions.

Typically, between -2 & -3 degrees. I've heard some spec it different for automatics, but I don't know why. I'm at -2 degrees.

Go with an adjustable. You can't go wrong with UMI or BMR. I have the BMR one myself. Won it on here.

I just got back from the Drag strip and i was able to cut 1.73 60fts on my UMI tunnel mount. No wheel hop or anything...

the 9" and hoosiers might have helped a lil too hehehe

hmmm, thats pretty good....... But my best 60ft on the stock torque arm is a consistent 1.75 with 275 m/t drag radials. I would have thought that the UMI could have showed better results, especially since you were on 9" hoosiers.

ive seen people cut 1.4's on the stock tq arm so its really setup dependent, adding a tq arm isnt going to magically lower your 60'

But it does strengthen the driveline that much more, not to mention it also helps in braking helping prevent nose dive for those that aren't track only cars. The main problem after that is getting the TA off of the tailshaft of the tranny.

I had nothing but UMI stuff on my old car (no torque arm though) and loved all their products.

On the new car it came with all BMR stuff and I don't have any complaints at all.
