Parts list Strano Springs Swaybars Koni 4/4's

Rears went real smooth no problems at all.
The Fronts on the otherhand were a PITA esp. getting the old spring shock assembly apart.
Never got a chance to talk to Sam last week to go over the set up with him because of his personal issues. (Don't worry Sam I will be calling you)
Anyway all is assembled and buttoned up real nice, As a baseline the front shocks are set at 4 sweeps from full hard and the rears are one turn from full soft.
The ride is amazing compared to the old beat up stuff, It's firm without being harsh. I purposely drove on some lumpy roads to verify this.
Haven't gone on any twisty roads yet but the car still feels alot more stable, body roll is almost nill.
I'll post before and after pics soon ran out of time last night and the batteries in the camara needed a recharge.

Again I can't say enough about this setup other than the car should of came this way from the factory.

Thank You Sam Strano.

I'm was going to order the koni/strano combo also, but i didn't because i thought the strano springs were out of stock. Are they back in now?

about how much of a finger gap do you have between the tire and the fender in the front and back?

Thanks

Finger gap is maybe 2 in front and about 3 in the rear.
You can definetely see a difference compared to the stock springs.

Before

After

Bottom one is the last shot I got off before the camera battery died. It was snapped minutes after finishing the install. Top shot is the only one close so it was used as a reference.

mine settled out some after a week or so of driving, so i bet the rear will match the front in a while.

also, for the rear springs, did you point the pigtails forward, or towards the back?

I had them pointed towards the front.
But I have noticed some noise in the rear(light knocking), will reorienting them towards the rear eliminate the noise ?

i get a knocking sound over bumps on mine too, but i swear the pigtails are to the rear, or maybe it was the last loop on the bottom faces the rear.

I'm definetlely getting a creaking sound from the rear springs, although it's not bad and not all the time.
Had the same thing before but on the stock suspension I checked the spring orientation and it was off. After I adjusted the pigtails to face the front of the car it was fine. Just wondering if the strano's need a different setup cause I have them pointing forward aswell ?

I was told by Sam in 2001 to have them facing back regardless of the spring involved. I know I'm getting old but hopefully that's what I recall. I think it's important to have both the same and that the spring sits in the donut at the top the right way. You could do a search in this forum for the words 'spring orientation', it brings up some good conversation.

I found this on a search on ls1.com:

"If you look at the left then the right springpads on the axle you'll notice that the right pad angles the spring back, it's not flat like the drivers side(this is on the factory 10 bolt axle,I don't know about 9" or 12 bolts) .That angle also causes some lowering springs to get bent,I know because my first set of lowering springs (eibach pro kit) bent down by the pigtail on the right spring making it worse(sit even lower).

The different angle on right pad causes it to sit lower, and where the spring pigtail sits will also affect the ride height(try some different positions with the pigtail).
Hypercoil brand springs(LG or kenny brown lowering springs) don't seem to bend(like the eibachs).and also the H&R springs, don't know about any other brands"
