Default small ***** in my rotor

Noticed this squeaking in my front driver brake a little bit ago, finally pulled the wheel to check it out and found a ***** in my rotor. No idea what caused it. Besides the squeak it makes when it rubs across the pad, could this be a problem? I'm keeping an eye on it, is it possible it might crack or should I just not worry about it (unless the squeak drives me insane)?

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic but that's what was available at the moment. If you want a clearer picture I can get one later with my real camera.

I don't think it's your squeak problem and doubt it will result in a crack. Look at those big slots in your rotors, that's where a crack will go if you get one. Try some lub or anti-noise shims on the back of your pads to stop the squeak.

is it a sign of a defective rotor?
hell, i'd be more comfortable with a crack or chip in the usual spot.
