Default Paging lowered cars with high hp (Over 400RWHP)

Hi guys,

Just wondering if you are all using aftermarket torque arms on your lowered setup or the stock Torque Arm? If you are running the stock torque arm how are you finding traction?

I have ordered bolt in LCA relocation brackets and will be running the following combo:
Front and rear 1LE swaybar and bushings
Cut stock springs (1.5 inches)
Stock decarbon shocks/struts
BMR relocation brackets
hotchkiss LCA's and RT adj panhard rod

I have a random tech torque arm right now and was wondering if I should keep it and readjust the pinion angle or just go back to stock?

My drag racing is going to consist of street tires and DR's from now on. Focusing more on street driving, road racing and autocross.

What are you lowered guys seeing for pinion angle from the stock torque arm?

I find my RT torque arm good but a little noisy. The stocker is definitely quieter. If I can get away without traction problems on the stocker with the relocation brackets I'll sell my RT torque arm.

Thanks for any info!!

Chris

I'm using the R/T arm at -2 for street and track. I get plenty of traction. Had bad traction issues with the stocker. However, in fairness I had the R/T arm on B4 going over 400RWHP. And you will hate your shocks after perhaps 10K miles; go for some better ones Chris.

thanks for the reply!

I think I am going to do it in two stages. Swaybars (1LE) first with upgraded bushings and then Bilsteins and perhaps cut stock springs or 1LE springs.

Cheers,
Chris

Don't cut springs, get a set, plenty of manufacturers with different rates and lowering height.

One of the issues you will have when road racing is ground clearance.

Trust me, you will spin and probably go off course.

I'm not sure how the R/T torque arm mounts, but if it reduces graound clearance any at all, AND you put on some sort of competition spring, you might be in for some welding and fabrication work after some "potato farming".

I had a buddy knock his Spohn unit's front mount off the car, ripping that thin as sheet metal front mount all to hell.

LG torque arm uses the same chassis pick-up points as stock and gives the same ground clearance.

It's non-adjustable and a direct bolt in. Dickin' with teh pinion angle will either help you on launch and kill you on braking or vice-versa.
