Default Lowering question about 315's...

So I wanna lower my car, but im worried about my Goodyear eagle F1's rubbing in the back if I lower it. They are 315/17/35's...on TTM rims.

Does anyone think I will have a problem?? Looking to just do the heater hose mod on the rear.

^^^ Obviously you have never had 315's on a lowered car.

I had mine lowered on Pro-kit springs, and my fender used to gouge into my driver's side wheel. Only solution was the adj. PHB to center the rear, a mini sledge, and a fender roller/cutter. Also a grinding wheel to shave the bumpstop.

I just had to do the BFH mod to mine... I saw where it made a little contact.

you can use the Z28 bumpstop to prevent shaving bumpstops.

I had to switch to a 295 when I lowered my car and still had to center the rear with an adjustable PHB because I was having contact on the passenger side tire when I hit decent sized bumps on the road. That's with Eibach Sportlines and KYB AGX's

Wasnt a big deal really... It was barely making contact.. maybe 1/8".

The bright side, it was on both sides so I knew it was centered. lol

LOL, He is doing the hose mod on stock springs that will lower the car about half an inch. And by the look of the pictures his car sits pretty high. It will depend mostly on the offset of his wheels. I race with 295" and my car is lowered an inch and a 1/4 at least. I do have the fenders rolled but have not rubbed in the inner part of the fender well. Here is what my ride looks like (being driven by my best half).

TTM wheels.. those Torque Thrust styles seem to have ideal offsets from what I can remember. You can DEFINITELY fit them and ride on them with no rubbing, as long as your willing to bang out a few mods in the rear. And really doing the BFH is not that bad. You might be able to get away with just the BFH mod. I run 50mm zr1 wheels and use a 3/16 spacer on the rear and I clear my bumpstops. It's really easy modifications to do honestly and you only have to do it once, with maybe a correction of BFH again.

You may want to roll the fenders for insurance. Try it without first but expect the possibility of doing it. If you rub, the world isn't going to end. You just don't want to rub on the tires for a month straight. FWIW, I still rub on my rolled fender ONLY IF I'm going through an autox slalom. I never rub even at the seekonk speedway and never on the street. I could care less about that minimal amount of rubbing.

Dual rod adjustable PHB will be useful to keep the wheels centered with no give. It's usually recommended to have at least a single adjustable. I'd go with a double though.

Everyone should go to the z28 bumpstop, no matter what you do with the car
